No! Just friends, please!!!

  • Another random thought:

I sometimes feel lonely and wish to connect with others on a deep and philosophical way... or simply to laugh about fart jokes. ^w^

It's most annoying when people my age or older suggest that I join a dating service. Um, no... I'm not looking for groin-y. I know where to find groin-y. I know how to get groin-y. I have no problem getting groin-y. Sigh... they don't get it. I want FRIENDSHIP. A bond, mutural attachment, link, tie, union, association. Someone to laugh with, cry with, cheer with, get angry with, discover new things with.

Someone to go on adventures with! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

"But... you can sorta be friends with a lover..." they say.

No, no, no, no, no! They don't get it! (╯°Д°)╯︵ ┻━┻

I am a hopeless romantic, sure. I don't mind romantic relationships, that's fine. But sometimes a person craves something more than that, they crave something beyond the physical and something more mentally stimulating, something more profound and beautiful than just groin-y. I crave such mental connections most of the time and sometimes, for a while, I get to enjoy that with the rare and special people who cross my paths in life. These are the people that I'll always remember and hold true within my heart, long after we've parted ways on the road, travelling on our seperate destinations. I will remember them more than I'll ever remember what-his-face or what-her-face in some sexy chat or hookup.

    End of random thought. ^_^

Phruitz I agree completely with this. I'm actually married and while I love my wife she doesn't enjoy the same things I do. It is always nice to find someone to talk to or think profound thoughts with.

ParallelMoon Yes, Phruitz! A romantic partner may not always share the same interests, that's what friends are for. And vice versa, your friends may not always be a good fit for a romantic partnership, that's what a spouse is for. I believe that both are needed in...  more
